Network of Progressive Initiative presented the report on the implementation of the action plans for the Green Agenda within the Berlin Process.
“CBAM and ETS: Key Instruments for Harmonizing Bosnia and Herzegovina with EU Standards and Climate Goals” was one of the topics discussed during the meeting with the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations. This issue will be further addressed at the upcoming event in the Bundestag in Berlin.
The level of commitment and prioritization of digitalization and decarbonization efforts in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been uneven across different levels of government and different ministries, leading to inconsistent progress.
Takeaways:
• Limited political will to fully embrace the CRM and Green Agenda action plans and complex decision making-system lead to a slower pace of adoption of strategies and implementation of initiatives.
• While there has been some advancement, the true scope of the achievements is uncertain due to the absence of comprehensive data.
• Better coordination and more focused efforts are needed to achieve the goals of the CRM and Green Agenda action plans.
• The efforts should be continuously monitored and evaluated to identify areas for improvement and course correct as needed.

The importance of regional cooperation and the role of parliaments on these important topics was at the center of the discussion!
